Fires

     There are a lot of forest fires around here.  Thankfully, none next to my house.  Since they are so close, it is extremely smokey at times.  Here is the sunrise, from my front yard.

Later, that morning, we took a drive into Montana.  This fire was near the road.

Wildlife

     We have lots of wildlife at our new place...snowshoe hares, deer, and turkeys.  

     My favorite little bunny is "Dot."  She is a young snowshoe hare with a little dot on her forehead.  She likes to hang out by our bedroom window.  She's so adorable, I just want to hold her.  Of course, she is very wild and won't let anyone get near her.
 

We have two birthing times for deer, early spring and then again in July.  This little deer is from the later season.  

 

 

Blue Lakes

     While looking for houses, we stayed at Blue Lakes Camping Resort.  Supposedly, the lake is bottomless.  While sitting on the dock, a turtle swam up to me.  He was the lookout.  I looked around and found a machine that had dog food in it.  I bought a handful and through some in the lake.  Soon after that, turtles from all over the lake was swarming in.  And after that, tons of bullheads (small catfish-like fish) came swarming in.

     My husband found a turtle in our yard.  I named him Herman and tried to give him a carrot.  He didn't want it.
