     These doo-dads were from Walmart for a dollar.  There were 12 doo-dads/package.  The thread was size 30 crochet thread and 1.5" in diameter.  I tried to incorporate the lilly pad design into the tatting.

      This pendent was done in Lizbeth, size 20, Blue River Glades.  The doo-dad was intended for stinging beads, but makes a great focal point.

      This pendent was done in Lizbeth, size 20, Blue River Glades.  I think this is my new favorite color.  The pendent is 1.75" in diameter.  This was an old pin I found at an antique show.

     I couldn't wait to show you this darling, 3-D butterfly.  I needed a break from my big tatting projects (7 foot boarder for the Church's alter and a doily for a great aunt).

     This pattern is one of Jane's wonderful patterns.  It's done in size 40, hand dyed by "Tattalittle" (In Tatters).  She gave me three gorgeous shades of turquoise thread.  The butterfly is 1.5" square (includes the antennas).  This would make a great pair of earrings in size 80.

     This is a 19 X 30 mm tiger-eye stone.    I cheated and bought the pretty pattern wire.  Too much work to cut the sheeting and solder it.

     This was the last piece of the broken necklace.  The doo-dad was missing a center stone, so I replaced it with a blue stone.  The Piece  was done in Lizbeth, size 40, antique blue and measures 2" in diameter.

Mayan Exchange

     I received this lovely exchange from Lea Rako ("Tattalittle), from Australia!!  In Tatters was doing the "Mayan ("End-Of-The-World) Exchange", for the winter exchange.  She went indepth on the meanings of everything she sent.
 

Beautifully packaged!!

     The beautiful "Doomsday Mat", is 9.5" and the tatting design was one of Iris Niebach free patterns (www.iristatting.com).  The Mayan design was hand printed on one side and plain brown on the other, making this reversable (gorgeous design).  It was done in browns to symbolize chocolate or cocoa.  The design side depicted the past and the plain side, to create something new for the future.  And we all need plenty of chocolate.

    She hand dyed the thread from DMC size 40 (my favorite colors and size).  She explained the meaning of the dyed threads:  as the Mayans excelled, vibrant blues were very important and kept secreat until the 20th century.  

 See really thought this all out, it just blows me away!!  Thank you so much Tattalittle.  I'll treasure this!!

     Found a broken necklace at an antique show.  Moved some of the missing stones around to make a nice setting.  The earrings were done in pearl cotton #12 and are 1.5" in diameter.

     These doo-dads I found at walmart...they were 12 for a dollar, in their bead section.  The earrings were done in Lizbeth, size 20, antique violet med.  They measure 1.5" in diameter.  Not too impressed with them so they aren't part of my challenge.  Stay tuned...one of these days I'll get it together and show you how I do all of these doo-dads (step-by-step).

     This was another Christmas present from my parents.  My mom knitted this fabulous scarf.  She said this is the hottest thing, back home.

     I tweaked my large tatting ball pattern and finally had gotten it to look right.  Yes, these were done before Christmas...thank goodness for "Schedule" bogging.  My blogs are done in advanced from two weeks to a month ... or more.  So, everything you are seeing now, I probably did a month ago.  This was a set of 15 Christmas balls.  I have a set of 18 small ones yet to do.  That pattern, I have down.  These balls were done in crochet thread number 20 and lots of beads.

     Tags I put on my packages.   They are made from shrink plastic and says, "Tatting By Marie."  The plastic was found at Hobby Lobby, called "Shrinky Dinks."  I can remember when these first came out...sort of dates my age.  One of my favorite things to do is the packaging part.

     This is one of my favorite bauble patterns, because it fits over varrious sized baubles.  The bauble was done in pearl cotton #8 and the chain in size 10 crochet thread.  The bauble pattern is from my first book:  "Tattasauruing: Baubles and Motifs."
