Last
We are required to teach five classes out of six. Since, I can't sit still, I'm going to have time-with-Marie for the last period of the workshop. Last year was fabulous. I had students coming to my class with their projects from other, instructors classes. I love to teach, so come see me with your questions. See you at the workshop.
Do you have questions from your classes with Marie? Do you just want additional work time on Marie’s patterns? This time is available for you to get additional help from Marie.
Tear
After lunch, Saturday, we will be doing a little Tatsmithing to make a "Dragon Tear Pendant":
This is part of the Fairy Garden Collection. This beautiful, Tatsmithed pendant is tatted around a faceted, opalescent cabochon with glow-in-the-dark accents and a dragon's tear, hanging off the bottom.
Saturday
Saturday morning I'm teaching "Doing the Splits Motif":
Small, but complex, split chain motif. Learn which split chain technique to use, while tatting from the left or from the right. Learn to make consecutive split chain sections, before jumping to the next row. Learn to front-face tat.
Afternoon
Latter in the afternoon, I'll teach the "Sink or Float" pendant:
This is part of The Sea is Calling Collection. This pattern can be used as a pendant or a pair of earrings. This pattern was inspired by the time I spent with my dad, at the Oregon coast.
Lunch
After lunch I'll teach the "Changeable Earrings," class:
This is part of the "Fairy Garden Collection" and the "Garden Collection." If you made the "Garden Bracelet" and the "Faylinn Necklace," then you need to make these earrings to finish your set. You will be making two pairs of earrings: "Fairy Wheel Earrings" and "Fairy Dress Earrings." These earrings will be, interchangeable and hung on a pair of handmade spiral earwires.
Spring
The registration for the spring, 2024 Shuttlebird Workshop is now open. Yeah..... The theme is "Mad Tatter's Tea Party. What better way to spend a weekend. Tea and tatting go hand-and-hand. I need to find my hat and white gloves for the tea party.
Eye
The original eye color, on the larger whale had gotten lost in the the whale. I had and iridescent black color from another kit. I like the contrast.
Improvised
I, improvised a little. The pattern called for a champaign colored diamond in the turtle. The same color in the background. I used a different color to accent the turtle.
