Hummer
I think I have a better picture. Hard to take pictures of things when they have shinny surfaces. Too much glare for the camera to focus on.
Paper: Strathmore 400 paper
Pencils: Prismacolor Premier and Arteza Professional (feeder and background)
Faber Castell Polychromos (hummingbird)
Marker: Arteza Brush Markers (underpainting of the feeder)
Reference: Local male, calliope hummingbird at one of our feeders.
New
Started another colored pencil drawing. Yes, I'm still tatting. I'm working on the next, two round of the doily and designing a complicated motif.
Close Up
Just finished varnishing the picture and took a close up of the hummer. I'll wait a few days for the varnish to cure before I frame it.
Hummer
I think it's done. Still having trouble obtaining a good photograph.
Paper: Strathmore 400 paper
Pencils: Prismacolor Premier and Arteza Professional (feeder and background)
Faber Castell Polychromos (hummingbird)
Marker: Arteza Brush Markers (underpainting of the feeder)

Background
I finished the background and now for the finishing touches.
Chicken
We celebrated Chinese New Year at the neighbors house. She had these adorable chickens sitting on the edge of basket. There are for the edge of a cooking pot. They hold the lid up, to prevent the pot from boiling over. She had given, each lady a chicken to take home. I put mine on my easel to prevent my drawing from falling off the edge.
Zone
I'm in the "Zone" and all is going well. I invested in a "Slice" tool to lightly, scrape in the highlights. I loooove this new tool.
Dark
I started to work on the front wing. I was trying to get the shadows darker. In the art world, you never use the color black (at least by itself) because it causes the pictures to look flat. While taking a shower, it came to me to use indigo blue. Very impressed how this is starting to come out.
Functional
It doesn't have to be pretty, just functional. I found a kid's art set, at the thrift store, for $3. The inside had formed liners and some of the cheap art supplies. I pulled out the liner and threw away most of the supplies. I kept the pencils for everyday coloring. I thought I could convert the box into a travel art box/easel.
Foundation
Whew, it's been a very long time since I worked with my colored pencils. I was looking back at the date I took the last picture and said mid June! That's about right. We started, up, at the farmers market then. I just laid down the foundation for the hummingbird. Now to get the courage to keep at it. This is very challenging, not sure how to approach it.
Sterling Silver
Handmade, sterling silver jewelry. Getting ready for farmer's market.
Kaleidoscope
I had entered a give-away on Instagram from the Pikle people of "In a Pikle." They drew my name and I just received my newest Pikle.
