Turtles
Another pair of sea turtles...
Silversmithed: jewelry and tatting shuttles............ Glass blowing: crochet hooks, dinosaurs, ice sickles, pens, earrings, and spoons.......... Tatting: jewelry, motifs, doilies, hankies, books, crosses, and much more.
16
I received the Tulip, size 16 crochet hooks. They seem to be stronger than the Lacis crochet hooks. I've used one for three weeks and no breaks...knock-on-wood.
Rings
I did a little test tatting for Shuttle Creations. The pattern is called, "The Only Rings Square."
Wash
I added watercolor pencil to the background. Then, took a lightly, dampened brush to activate the pencil, into a wash. It's a little intense, so I'll dab it with a dampened paper towel to lift some of the pigment off and go over it with a lighter colored pencil.
Foundation
I finished the underpainting of my lily. I used my, favorite, Chameleon markers. Now to add the background.
Sea
Even though, we are back from our Oregon coast trip, I'm still designing coastal jewelry. This pendant was my prototype called, "I Sea the Light."
Dimpled
A couple of months ago, I found a plastic pouch full of tatting books from the thrift store. The pouch was only $3, so I had to buy it. In the pouch was an interested book by Joy Botchlet, called Tatting Dimpled Rings. Here is one of the cross patterns.
Cross
Time for a change-of-pace, and tat a few crosses. I went to my ol' stand-by book, by Lene Bjorn.
Organizing
With the price of silver, still around $25, I haven't done much silversmithing. I decided to move the necklaces to a jewelry case with larger spaces.
Skulls
Someone asked me to make her nieces a pair of small earrings. They just got their ears pierced. After tatting, this design, it looked like a pair of skulls. Back to the drawing board. Great for Halloween, but not for two, little girls.
Thickness
I ran out of the cabone rings and went to Michaels to buy a few more. Once home, I discovered the rings were thinner than my older rings. I was making a few The See is Calling, earrings, for the market. The thinner rings, give the earrings a different look.
Love
I just looooove, this pair of earrings. The thread is Lizbeth, size 20, Autumn Orange Medium. This embellishment was an old necklace with, about 15 square pieces.
Red
I removed a pair of dangles from an old necklace. I love the antique look of this pair of earrings.
