Dud
I tried to make a Hot Chocolate Cookie, I found on Facebook. They don't look like the picture, but taste good. I couldn't find mini candy canes so I had to substitute, medium size, cherry-flavored canes. I had nine, semi-decent cookies for Christmas dinner and enough fudge for three mini-pie tins.
...the duds:
So, so ones...
the nicest ones...
...the best
my fudge.
Earrings
Another special order...elk earrings in a basic setting. Notice the large cavity, forming over the top half, of the left-hand tooth.
Secret
Lisa, at the Tatting Corner, hosted a Secret Santa Exchange. Here are the goodies, JB sent me: Merry Christmas shuttle, hand dyed thread, glass bells, tatted bell, fairy, a towel to tat around, rose quartz drop, and a scroll (two bell patters for the glass bells). Thanks JB.
Baby Blue
I designed these earrings for my little (baby) sister, who has gorgeous blue eyes.
She must get them from my mom....Happy Birthday, Mom...btw, my other sister was also blessed with pretty blue eyes.
Merry Christmas
The Christmas card I made for this year.
Work
I have my work cut out for me. A few things a friend sent me. The rest I found at estate/yard/craft sales. A large batch of whole and broken jewelry...bracelets, pins, earrings, buttons and necklaces.
I just finished taking off the ear backings and any other appendages. Next....
1.) Grind, sand and smooth sharp edges.
2.) Wash/clean/polish
3.) Add colorless, fingernail polish to any parts that have lost their polish, on the back side (prevents any reaction to sensitive skin from the pot metal).
4.) Reattach any loose stones/pearls and tighten prongs.
5.) Add any colored fingernail polished to plain areas or areas needing attention.
6.) Start embellishment tatting.
NOTE: this is a very small amount of old jewelry, for tatting. I have a huge stash in an old makeup box. Like thread and shuttles, never pass up an opportunity to expand the lot.
Trinket Box
Had to make a few more, to replace the ones that sold at my shows. These are fun to make, but take a day and a half to make
Last
Last batch of rocks to hide. I didn't wait for the paint to fully cure, before I added the top coat...causing the colors to bleed.
Pink
A little pink and red trinket box.
Mousies
A friend, just off a litter (mischief) of mice...truffles. They are, almost, too cute to eat...but not quite! They are delicious!!!!
