Dolphin
I found a study, by Leonardo, on a dolphin. This study was very interesting. Along with the various hardness of leads, the water was done with graphite powder and and a soft brush. That was a little challenging, trying to think outside the box. Here is my attempt at another wonderful study by Leonardo.
Upcycle
I had gotten an old pin, that needed a little work. The catch was loose, so I tightened it. As I did so, the catch broke. I removed the pin and finished the back. The colorless cabochon had old, yellowing glue, showing through. The cabochon was easy to pop out and I also removed the flower. Once the old glue was removed, I assembled it with good glue and tatted around it. When I tat around old jewelry, I want the tatting to be an extension of the embellishment.
Button
I made a rosy, sketchbook cover a few months ago. The stitching on the ribbon bothered me so I tatted around a button to hide the stitching. I love the way it looks now. This has become my kalimba music book cover.
Seahorse
The pattern is one of Janes water animals. I made another kalimba charm for my sister's ocean kalimba.
Ocean
I love these little mermaids and ocean critters on the Hluru, 21 key kalimba.
Mouse
My new kalimba needed a tassel. Looking for mice patterns, I came across Jane's, "Ann Onnymouse" pattern. This mouse is just adorable!! He's so kissable. Makes me miss my ratties. The kalimba had a hole drilled in the top to add a tassel to it. I knotted the end of the tassel to keep it in place.
