     There were a lot of Christmas, craft kits in that estate sale box.  This Fad-of-the-month was an interesting technique.  The fake-wood was styrofoam.  A knife, heated over a candle, was applied to the brown styrofoam  to give the effect of wood burning on wood.  I would advise you to do this out side!!  The fumes are toxic!!
