Thank You

Thank You

Nicola sent me a wonderful, thank you present, for test tatting.  I love the old Workbasket magazines.  They always have a tatting pattern.

Frame

Frame

     I found a cute little 4" X 5" frame at a yard sale.  I decided to cut a diamond-shape from green matboard.

Floating

Floating

I had taken a watercolor class in high school.  I didn't think I really had it mastered (far from it).  I had tried to "float" my pigments on top of a puddle of water.  I never thought that was the proper way to do it, but it did OK.  Not long ago, I seen a video, on Facebook, with someone using the same technique.  Ha, I wasn't the only one, and I did it right.  I decided to play with it a little a came up with this.  Not that great.  I like my new way of water coloring, using a dry technique.

This one is my favorite...no to find a little frame for it.  Time to go yard-saling.

Daring

Daring

I sucked it in and went for it.  This was very intimidating, but working through the water color.

Peas

Peas

In less than a week, my peas have started to come up.

Had a little room for my rock garden.

We  decided to have a little more lawn, for a picnic table.  Hubby put some straw down on the new seed to protect it from the hot sun.

Nicola's

Nicola's

Here is another, beautiful heart, called "Nicola's Heart."  This was an awesome challenge!!  Nicola is a needle tatter and designed this for needle.  I had to dig out my Celtic shuttles to tat this one.  The rings are large enough to get my shuttles through.  She has this one posted in Craftree.

Garden

Garden

We had gotten a good deal on 2" thick, rough cut, cedar boards.  We were going to put in the garden next year, but couldn't pass up the lumber.  We made two, raised garden boxes (2 feet tall) and a fenced-in (deer proof) garden area.  My neighbor had too many veggies, so I planted them in my new garden.  Next year, we'll plant a cherry and apple tree in the the extra space....this was a two day project.

Solar

Solar

Shopko, was clearencing out their season things and saw a solar light to fit on top of a wide-mouth jar.  I made a little fairy scene, using Arkansas "Diamonds."  My parents brought them back from the mine.

Shed

Shed

We moved into a smaller place and needed a shed to store things from the garage.  Took us three days, but worth it.

Blackberries

Blackberries

Haven't felt like tatting, lately.  Been doing a few projects outside.  Here is a trellis, made out of a ranch panel, for our blackberries.

Box

Box

We were having a get-together at the neighbors house.  They had this awesome, Kentucky Bourbon cake.  She had given me the wood box, before I left.  It worked out, perfectly, for all my buttons.  I had out-grown my old box and was needing a new one.  Looks like I have some room left to add to the button box.

Two

Two

Another two, more rounds done on my doily.  Half way done...so far it's been a bear to tat.  I hate hiding all the ends.  The rest of the way should go faster.
