Farmers Market

Farmers Market

Our local, Bonners Ferry, Farmers Market has started.  But, due to the virus, only essential vendors are allowed (food, plants and cleaning supplies).  The only thing I could sell is my hand sanitizers that hang on a purse or bag.  I've been making these for four years and they rarely sell.  People never got, that germs are everywhere.  The virus has woken people up to this.  We have been using hand sanitzer since it came out.  I always have it on my purse.  While making a few more (I had a few bottles of sanitzer, I had gotten last fall), my sewing machine belt broke.  Pretty good for a belt lasting 33 years.  Unfortunately, I have to wait???weeks???months for a new belt.  I do have my mom's, heavy duty Singer sewing machine as a back up.  I'll wait to sell these, maybe mid to late May.

More

More

After building the rock jack.  We decided it would look better if we had two more to bring it all together.  We have two along the main street and one more by the house, lining our property.  It was hard to get a picture with all three in the picture...but look carefully.

Ranch

Ranch

Very few people, know what these are...

This is a rock jack.  People who live on ranches, in the rockies, knows what they are.  The ground is too rocky to pound post in, for fences, so we build these and string our fence wire too.
We have an abundance of rock at our new place and they seam to sprout up new ones every spring.  We decided to build a rock jack, as you come onto our road.

Place Mats

Place Mats

We wanted larger place mats for our larger plates.  Before my sewing machine belt broke, I managed to sew a few place mats.  My neighbor had given me some of her stash of fabric (a closet full).  Once my belt comes in, I can make more place mats for different times of the year.

Spring

Spring

Here is one of my Spirograph designs.  I was going to teach this one at the Shuttlebird workshop, in May.  But, due to the virus, the workshop has been cancelled.  Very sad, going to miss all my new friends.  The upside, I'm all ready for next year.  So, hope to see you in my class in 2021.

Quickly

Quickly

This doily is going quickly.  The middle is a little different from the pattern.  I wanted the onion rings, throughout the middle.  In order to obtain this, I had to tat the little motifs, differently.  Originally, the pattern could be tatted in one round.

Hottest Item

Hottest Item

The hottest item, this year, is toilet paper.  Hubby had gotten this from our neighbors for his birthday.

The card is one of Jan's (JS Design) latest cards.  Don't forget to check out her site.  Link is also on the upper right of this blog.

Onion Ring Doily

Onion Ring Doily

I love doilies and have them throughout the house.  My new stand needs a couple of doilies.

I seen this doily on Robins blog and wanted to make it.  This is the "Onioin Ring Magic Square," in Lizbeth, size 20, white and ocean teal medium.

Spring

Spring

Looking out my window, I see the first hummingbird coming by. Painted with watercolor.  This picture looks better in real life. I added metallic gold to my paints to give the hummingbird feathers a iridescent sheen.

Apple

I've wanted to learn to draw glass.  I found a so-so, Youtube video on drawing a glass apple.  This was a mixed media drawing, using marker, colored pencil and pastel.

Spacey

I must have had a blonde moment and completely missed my stitch count on this Spirograph.   I forgot two sections, but...didn't come out too bad.

Masks

Masks

There's word, we might have to start wearing masks, out in public.  I found an easy masks on Hobby Lobby's site.  There's a pocket space for the filter.  The pattern calls for 7" for each elastic strap.  This length is ok for my small face but hubby needed 9" of elastic for his straps.  The dinosaurs glow in the dark.  We both needed one.

Art

Art

We found some, beautiful, Navajo art.  There were a few vendors, during the week, along the highway in Arizona.  Mostly jewelry and ceramic Christmas balls.  A few had sand painting...we couldn't resist.

Just south of Kana, was a  little Native American Art store on the right.  This store was off the beaten path and not your usual tourist trap!  If you are in the area, you MUST go to this store it was well worth it.

Kachina doll we couldn't pass up.  It went with our sand paintings.
