Me

Me

I had to make a dinosaur shuttle for myself.  The other two I'll sell at my shows.

  1. Mmm perhaps you need to make another Dinosaur shuttle to sell but it should be an Albertasaurus.

  2. Do you still make "fish" shuttles? How about picot gauges for larger cords? What is your favorite wood? What wood is the easiest wood to work with? On average, how many hours do you spend on each shuttle?

    1. Woo, lots of questions. I haven't made any wood shuttles for a long time. I made a big, stock of them the last time I made them and still have, plenty of most of them (my rattie shuttles are bought the most). I have made, picot gauges for larger cords. I made one for myself. My favorite woods are black walnut and alder, for sentimental reasons. Red oak is harder to work with and least favorite because of the large grain. Popular is soft and easy to work. I love the colors that can come out with this wood. I have never watched the clock on hours. I have them assembly-lined. I work on a batch at once. But, if I were to work on one-at-a time, maybe, 12 hours for flat shuttles and double that for the other type of shuttles.
