Mine

Mine

A friend had gave me "Il Mio Chiacchierino", number11.   This is a very impressive book.  Lots of beautiful patterns.  I had to make this jewelry set, immediately!!  They used size 10 thread, but I used three strands of embroidery sewing thread.

  2. Very beautiful. You do such a great job of selecting the adornments that are part of your tatting.

  3. It seems that you can tat with ease all techniques of tatted jewelry! This appears to be Ankars style. Lovely work in attractive colors.

Is this a monthly magazine? If so, the Italians take tatting seriously! it must be one of the few magazines in the world dedicated to tatting! Do they give the designer's names?

    1. This pattern was a mixture of Ankars and celtic tatting. A great challenge. And yes, a monthly magazine that handy hands carry. It's in Italian so not sure of the designer, thankfully it's all diagrammed, beautifully.

    2. Thanks for the reply! I'm kind of relieved to know you found the necklace a challenge, because you so easily master all kinds of artistic projects (including non-tatting ones)! And, of course you design your own tatted jewelry 'from scratch' and embellish old pieces of jewelry with such balanced and intriguing ideas and techniques, including perfect bead placement and thread colors.

I'm embarrassed that I apparently have never checked out the 'foreign tatting books' section of Handy Hands! Thanks for leading me there! I can see lots of books in both sections that I would love to have! I'll have to 'control' myself! :)
