Celtic Shuttle
Here is a couple of pairs of Celtic shuttles made from black walnut wood.
I had to quickly try them out. The ends are a little big for size 40 thread. They worked, but a little too tight. Have to make the ends smaller for finer threads. The pattern was "Celtic Knot Christmas Tree Heart," by Ruth Perry. The little motif is about 1" in diameter. Not bad for my first attempt at Celtic tatting.
Lovely shuttles! The thread fr your heart is wonderful, which is it?
ReplyDeleteIt's one of the Lizbeth colors.

Maybe the Celts discovered tatting? This is a superb heart in a superb color. I need to make it, to attach it to my backpack.

ReplyDeleteSally! Amazing tatting! I have tried to the point of wailing, yes, crying! I CANNOT tat the Celtic knot. Perhaps I need to see someone tat it very very slowly. I am so impressed with your piece!
