The Adventures of Rexy

The Adventures of Rexy

I have loved dinosaurs, for as long as I can remember.  I remember going to the Natural History Museum in Denver, Colorado and my dad had gotten me a few wax dinosaur figurines.  By the first grade, I could spell dog and cat as well as the various dinosaurs.  So when my neighbor brought, poor Rexy over, I was delighted.

She had found a baby tyrannosaurus, alone, naked, cold and starving.  His mother must have been hit by a semi, or attacked by grizzly bears or cougars.  Yes, this is the wild north west...we have grizzlies!!  My neighbor, took Rexy home and found him some clothes.  She also gave him a ball to play with, since he's still a baby.

She couldn't keep him because she has two big golden retrievers, Mike and Molly.  The two of them, would tear, poor Rexy apart.  She couldn't give him to the other neighbor because, Charlie would try to find it's squeaker.  Since, we are dogless, she thought I would be the perfect mommy.  Here he is....so bony.  Hopefully, I can put some meat on him.  He is very shy.

Poor thing had almost, starved to death....look how bony he is.

Dino Whisperer

Dino Whisperer

While my neighbor was heading to town, she had seen a hamster, hitch hiking, along the road.  It was snowing, so she pulled over, and offered him a ride to town.  She asked him, where he was going and he replied, "My name is Chatter and I'm looking for work."  She asked him, what kind of work and he said, he was a dinosaur whisperer.  She told, Chatter, about Rexy and brought him to see me.  I gave him room and board, in exchange for dinosaur sitting.  Chatter has the gift of calming Rexy's anxiety problems.

Happy Birthday Mom

(My neighbor gave me Chatter, for Christmas.  He repeats, whatever he hears.)

Neighbor

Neighbor

The neighbor, who found Rexy, discovered an egg in the back yard...I should say the dogs, Mike and Molly, dug up an egg.  As my neighbor, quickly rescued the egg, it began to hatch in her hand.  She quickly brought it over, and out came a baby triceratops.

I named her, Cera (after the little triceratops from, "The Land Before Time").  She is very strong minded and Rexy is terrified of her.  He has been hiding in his corner.

....Cera talks and walks.  The video is a little dark because her eyes were a little sensitive to to light.  You can find her video here...

Hope you are enjoying, Rexy's adventures, Selena.

Back to Normal

 Back to Normal

The Christmas tree has been taken down and all the decorations were put away for next year.  Time to get the house back to normal.  I just downloaded the pictures from my camera and caught, Rexy in action.  I found him, playing under the Christmas tree.  I think, his ball rolled under there and he ran to retrieve it.

The Gang

The Gang

After running into the kid's room, Rexy heard Chatter, chattering to the other kids.  Rexy, jumped onto the bed to see what all the chattering was about.

Boring??

Boring??

Every year I keep putting up the same decorations.  Baubles and Tatsmithing on the little tree.  Tatting and quilling on the big tree.  I think I'm going to change it up, but when I open the box...nope tatting and quilling is going back on the tree.  It has that elegant look to it.  So, NOT boring....gorgeous!!

Not quilling or tatting....my niece gave this to my husband, last year.  It was his most treasured present.  She had spent her own money to buy it for him.

I need to make a matching doily for the teapot on the bottom.  My husband got me the hutch for Christmas.  Something to display some of my best teapots.

What....how did he get into the picture....

Rexy looooooves his Christmas lights.

Too Quiet

Too Quiet

You know, when it's a little, too quiet.  You know the kids are up to something, they shouldn't be.

Rexy wasn't in his, normal, play area...I found him under the kitchen table with something, red, dangling from his mouth.  We don't have any, other pets, and he hasn't been in the garage or outside.  Thankfully, NOT, in the garage.  We have been ice fishing, for the two days and there are fish guts in the trash can.

What he DID, have in his mouth, was one of my beaded necklaces.  Thankfully, I had gotten it out of his mouth, before he broke it.

Shy

Shy

Rexy wanted to see the new baby, girl.  She is very shy and scared of Rexy.  Tyrannosaurus means tyrant lizard, so we are calling her Terry.

Santa

Santa

Santa came early.  Lil' Rexy had gotten a big red ball from Santa.  He looks so cute in his red pajamas.  My neighbor brought him over, all decorated and lit up.  She knew how much I liked dinosaurs.  Isn't he adorable!

New Friends

New Friends

Rexy made a few friends, three little orphans.  He found them admiring the presents and tree.  Our little orphanage is really growing.  We now have two baby tyrannosaur's and one baby triceratops.  Cera is very excited about that.
