Buttons
I was going through my small button stash to make some more hair clips.
Silversmithed: jewelry and tatting shuttles............ Glass blowing: crochet hooks, dinosaurs, ice sickles, pens, earrings, and spoons.......... Tatting: jewelry, motifs, doilies, hankies, books, crosses, and much more.
Christmas
I was waiting to spend my birthday gift certificate, to Handy Hands, once they had their "Christmas in July" promotion. Here is the loot...Thanks Rachel, I love my present.
Shells
Another, craft store had seashell buttons...more hair clips. I think, I need to make a trip to the coast.
Owls
I had found a few, cute, owl buttons at the fabric store. I decided to make a few hair clips, with them. I also had a heart button.
Button
When I seen the "Square Button Bag," in Martha Ess's, Button Jar Tatting book, I had to make it. I added a lot more and more beads to the pattern. This little purse came out to be, about 4" wide. Cute for a little girls purse, or a big girls evening purse. The front of the purse has buttons, while the back is plain (with lots of beads).
Crafts
The rest of the fair results: 11 first place, 4 second place, 5 "Best of Class," 2 Special $10 Awards ("Best Paper Craft" and "Best Glass Craft."
Tatted
I had received 9 first place ribbons, 2 second place ribbons and one "Best of Class" ribbons for the tatted entries.
Art
The Boundary County Fair had ended. Here are the results for the art category: all six entries had gotten first place, four "Best of Class, one "Reserved Champion," and one special award for "Best Mixed Media" with $10 award.
Square
One of my favorite doilies to tat is "Doily #3," from Jan's Tatting Theory." I used size 10 thread to match the big doily on my cedar chest.
