Aspen

    We went out for a drive and found a few Aspen Boletes.

    1. Yes, they are delicious. These type of mushrooms, tend to get slimy, sicne they have so much water content. You can dry them, or cook them in a hih heat. To cook them, if the sponge layer is too thick, remove it and dry that portion. Slice the mushroom up, add to a large skillet and drive off the moisture quickly by salting and heating them in med-high leat. Stir constantly. One moisture is driven off, saute them in butter or olive oil. As with all mushrooms make sure you can positively identify these. The flavir really improves, once they start to cool down.
