Love
I, just, looooove these nail wraps. This might be my favorite shuttle.
Silversmithed: jewelry and tatting shuttles............ Glass blowing: crochet hooks, dinosaurs, ice sickles, pens, earrings, and spoons.......... Tatting: jewelry, motifs, doilies, hankies, books, crosses, and much more.
Feeders
I decided, not to put out hummingbird feeders, this year. I'm tired of battling the ants and yellow jackets. Besides, the neighborhood is filled with flowers.
I went to my garden, to forage for lunch. As I walked up to one of the boxes, I was greeted by a humming bird. She was very friendly and came up to me. She's, probably, wondering where her feeder is, this year. Usually, they come up to me and squawk, that their feeder is almost empty or needs a little cleaning....soooo, demanding. I planted marigolds around my lettuce to keep out garden pest. This made a wonderful humming bird area. They nest in the tree, next to the garden.
UV
This shuttle has a top coat that changes pink, once the sunlight hits it. Fun to tat outside with these.
Wire
I made these batches with wire I had left over from another project. It is one, gauge, too thick so the wraps are a little stiff. Next time we head to the big city, I'll pick up a little finer wire. The pattern called for 18 ga and I had 17 ga. Also, my wire was hardened a little more than most.
Soooo Proud
I am so proud of one of my students from the Shuttlebird workshop. She had put her, "Reversable Pendant", into her her fair and won 1st place. In Canada, 1st place is a red ribbon. Unlike the US, a blue ribbon is 1st place. Congrats Knot Vortex, I'm so proud of you. Be sure to check out her blog.
Wrap
I had purchased a hair wrap from out market, several years ago. I wanted to make some and came across a few YouTube videos on how to sew them. Here is one of the wraps.
My hair is baby fine and most hair things fall out of it. This wrap stays put.
Scarf
I had picked up an interesting scarf kit. It was called an infinity scarf. The scarf was easy to sew and supper soft.
