Confirmation cross, for my niece. The pattern is one of my go-to patterns by Lene Bjorn. I had found a couple of spools of DMC metallic thread and thought I'd give it a try.....HATED IT!!! !!!! It twist, it's NOT smooth (like my sewing thread), the metallic part had fray and weak parts, rings won't open if I made a mistake...grrrrrrrrr!!! On the bright side, it looked pretty, once it was done.
Selena, learned to make a cherry pie and talked about genetics in her bread of rabbits. She started with tans and now has lilacs and blues. While I was waiting for her to finish her pie, I was doing a little tatting.
New for this year's Farmers Market, will be pre-made tatting lessons. Also, if you want to learn to tat, bring a chair and I'll teach you. Bring size 10 crochet thread and a shuttle. If you don't have a shuttle, I have shuttles and tatting kits for sale....not to mention, tatting books and tatting cases. Hope to see you there. Here are the pre-made kits so far...all the beads are pre-strung and strung on a floss card in the correct location. There is a colored thread, in the marked spot, to know how much to wind your shuttle. The tatsmithing lesson, has a pre-wound shuttle to prevent extra stretching.
I made a trip out to Iowa, to see my niece get confirmed. The first thing I wanted to do, was visit Dad's grave. I found the, beautiful Easter cross, at Hobby Lobby. My dad had designed the eagle and flag, right after 9-11.
