    My niece had mentioned she wanted to learn tatting.  I made her a special shuttle, so whenever I make it home, I can show here.  I painted a little rattie on one of my newly made, cedar shuttles.

     I also had to make myself a new shuttle out of cherry.  The strange writing is Katakana, one of the three Japanese alphabets.  It says Marie.
